This year Woodmont brought a team of 23 people. We never did get a picture of the whole group together since some of the members stayed back at the hotel on the day we went sightseeing. These two group photos show MOST of the team members.

During the week, the team was divided into three ministry groups: medical, construction and children’s/women’s ministries.

The medical team enjoyed a medical tour one day. They visited CEPON (Cancer Center), a public health clinic, the University Hospital and the Federal University’s Nursing School. Besides helping out in the public health clinic in Frei Damião, the student nurses also got to accompany the public health agents as they made home visits in the neighborhood checking on home-bound, elderly and other patients who needed to have their blood pressure or blood sugar levels checked.

The construction team worked hard all week and finished raising the walls on part of the new wing of the CADI.

The Children’s/Ladies’ Ministry Team helped with Loretta’s Team Sports Class, prepared Bible stories and activities for the children of the CADI, helped with Music Class, visited in the neighborhood and held a Women’s Tea. They had a lot of different things to prepare for!

The team also participated in worship services in Frei Damião and São Sebastião and Bill Rogers (team leader) was invited to teach a class at the Bible Institute.
The entire week was full of opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and show His love in a very practical way.
