July 2004

Dear Prayer Partners,

We have arrived safely back “home” in Florianopolis and we want to thank each of you for your prayers for us as we packed up and said our goodbyes to family and loved ones in the States. We want to try to keep these prayer updates short so that you won’t have to spend too much time reading. If you would like to receive a more detailed newsletter, please let us know and we will add you to a different list.

PRAISES:

  1. Forquilhinhas Church (our church before we went to the States last December) has a new pastor and is thriving. What a joy to see all the old faces and many new ones when we visited last Sunday night!
  2. We attended the Graduation Ceremony of the first graduating class of the Baptist Bible Institute here in town the night we arrived. Among those graduating was Pastor Roberto Chenk who will be working closely with us in the near future.

REQUESTS:

  1. cir.jpgPlease pray as preparations are made to receive the “Circo da Vida” (Circus of Life) October 10 – December 10 this year. It is a huge tent that will be set up in Brejaru, one of the new areas where we will be working in hopes of beginning a new church. Pray that God will raise up the medical professionals (doctors, dentists, nurses) as well as drama teams, craft teachers, children’s workers, etc to volunteer during those months.
  2. Pray for the new group of believers that has been meeting in Estiva for about one month. Pray that as these believers are discipled, they will become strong Christians and cooperate to make Christ known in their community.
  3. Pray as we survey the Madri neighborhood and seek the Lord’s strategy to reach that community.

We are so thankful for each of you and for the important part you play in our ministry here in Brazil.

Ron and Alana
