Dear prayer partners,
Wow! What a month! It has been very busy and physically exhausting, but what a joy to be part of the great things God is doing in our area! You are definitely part of all that is happening as you have faithfully lifted us and our ministries to the Lord in prayer.
PRAISES:
- Bairro Ipiranga – There have been 8 decisions for Christ this month. Now they will be discipled and will be part of Bible studies. The administrator of the orphanage has been attending and bringing his family. Attendance continues to be great. Several people have adopted families in prayer. We believe God will answer their prayers and draw these families to Christ!
- Brejaru – We praise the Lord for the wonderful week with the mission team from Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama. God answered prayers and poured out His blessings! Approximately 5,000 people came to the Circo da Vida during the week. There were at least 70 decisions for Christ. The medical team met tremendous needs in that very poor community and Christ’s name was exalted! We are blessed to have Woodmont as our partners in ministry!
- Madri – We praise the Lord for Celso and Ilda and for their desire to minister to their neighbors.
REQUESTS:
- Please continue praying for the Circo da Vida project. Now comes the hard work of following up on all the people who made decisions and those who expressed an interest in having a Bible study in their home. Pray that the Lord will raise up more Christians to help with this overwhelming task. Pray that the Lord will keep these new believers in His grip.
- Pray for the mission team from Winter Park Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. They will be working at the Vinde a Mim as Criancinhas orphanage and day care. They are bringing 2 dentists, 2 hygienists, 3 nurses, an optometrist, puppet team, and construction team that will do some work on a house to make it livable for the children, who are now living in a rental home. They have 27 children living there at the moment. Our primary goal in bringing this team is to impact the Bairro Ipiranga community for Christ by serving them. The team will be here October 23-November 1.
- Pray for the non-Christian families that have visited the services in Bairro Ipiranga. We have been to each home to visit these families. About half of the families visited attending the services faithfully. If you would like to adopt one of these families in prayer, please let us know and we will send you their names, some prayer concerns and a picture. Pray that the new believers will become strong and have a desire to share their faith with their friends and families.
- Pray for preparations being made to receive the Projeto Vida in Madri. This will be a special evangelistic impact weekend November 18-21. There will be approximately 15 young people coming to present dramas in the public schools, do street evangelism, show the Jesus Film, have a special morning of activities for the children, etc. Pray that the name of the Lord will become known and honored in that place.
- Pray for a group from Pavilion of Hope in Canada that is preparing to come November 7 – 22 to build at the Drug Rehabilitation Center for Teenaged boys in Estiva. They will also be showing the Jesus film in several neighborhoods.
- We have had a set-back this month at Estiva. One of our Brazilian team members, has decided not to continue helping there. At a critical time when we have been busy with the Circo da Vida, it has left a real gap in our work. Please pray that God will call someone else to work along with us in Estiva.
Once again, I know this is a long list, but please chose one of the requests that has captured your interest, take it to heart and pray regularly for that one request. We have experienced many answers to prayer this past month and we want you to join us in thanking God for all He has done!
