Dear prayer partners,
We are thankful for your prayers and for your support.
PRAISES:
- Bairro Ipiranga – There has been excellent attendance in the services in Bairro Ipiranga. We are so thankful that the orphanage/day care center has offered the use of their large meeting room to accommodate the people that are coming. The attendance has consistently been between 40 and 50 people.
- Brejaru – Plans are coming along nicely for the Circo da Vida Project that will begin next month. We have commitments from a gynecologist who will see patients every Friday during the 2-month project, from a team of ophthalmologists and a dentist that will see patients weekly, craft teachers, children’s workers, beauty school students that will offer free haircuts once a week, and a possible ear, nose, throat team that may be able to do hearing tests.
- Madri – The first services have been mostly with Christians who live in the area – usually a group of 15 – 20 people. We have been praying for the neighborhood and are coming together as a team committed to reach the people there.
- Estiva – We praise the Lord for the healing taking place in the heart of one of the key members of the team working in Estiva.
REQUESTS:
- Please continue praying for the Circo da Vida project. We still need more doctors, dentists, and people to help with the evening worship services during the time the tent is set up.
- Please pray for the mission team from Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama that is scheduled to arrive October 9th. They will help get the Circo da Vida project off to a good start. They will be in Brejaru until October 16th and are bringing a doctor, a dentist, a dental hygienist, 2 nurses, children’s workers, a construction crew, and some great personal evangelists. Please pray for visas for all team members, for a safe trip, and for physical and spiritual strength for all the challenges they will face. Pray especially for the special Children’s Day activities being planned for October 12th. We are expecting approximately 3,000 people to attend the festivities since the 12th is a national holiday.
- Pray for the mission team from Winter Park Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. The members of this team have been hit hard by hurricanes Charley and Frances and some of the members have had extensive damage to their homes. As a matter of fact, several have had to drop out. Please pray for them as they prepare for their ministry here while still having to deal with repairing roofs and other damage to their property. They will be working at the Vinde a Mim as Criancinhas orphanage and day care. They are bringing 2 dentists, 2 hygienists, 3 nurses, an optometrist, puppet team, and construction team that will do some work on a house to make it livable for the children, who are now living in a rental home. They have 27 children living there at the moment. Our primary goal in bringing this team is to impact the Bairro Ipiranga community for Christ by serving them. The team will be here October 23-November 1.
- Pray for the 20 non-Christian families that have visited the services in Bairro Ipiranga. Many of these are extremely poor. Our team has visited in each of these homes and prayed with each family. As we get to know each one of them, the burden is even greater for their salvation. If you would like to adopt one of these families in prayer, please let us know and we will send you their names, some prayer concerns and a picture.
- Pray for preparations being made to receive the Projeto Vida in Madri. This will be a special evangelistic impact weekend November 18-21. There will be approximately 15 young people coming to present dramas in the public schools, do street evangelism, show the Jesus Film, have a special morning of activities for the children, etc. Pray that the name of the Lord will become known and honored in that place.
- Pray for a group from Pavilion of Hope in Canada that is preparing to come November 7 – 22 to build at the Drug Rehabilitation Center for Teenaged boys in Estiva. They are in the process of recruiting additional team members to come help.
I know this is a long list, but even if you chose one of the requests that has captured your interest, take it to heart and pray regularly for that one request, we believe God will honor the prayers of His people! We are in this together!
God bless you,
Ron and Alana
